The coasters are handmade using traditional fused glass technique, which was known already to the Egyptians ca. 2000 BCE.
The pattern is made by placing powdered frit glass or paint between two layers of clear glass.
The stack is fired in the kiln where it fuses softening the edges. The whole “heating process” takes about 48 hours.
The coasters have felt underneath to protect the surface you place them on.
Some bubbles are a natural occurrence in fused glass.
Each piece has our signature engraved and comes with a short description of the technique used.
Because each piece is made by hand; expect slight differences in size, shape and colour.
The price shown is for 4 items.
